WOW it's CANADA'S BDAY 142 YEARS OLD TODAY!

WOW HAPPY BIRTHDAY CANADA...I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU ARE 142 YEARS YOUNG...WHY I AM SO VERY PROUD..YES PROUD! TO BE CANADIAN...I STICK OUT MY CHEST, BREATH IN THE FREEDOM AND SAY HEY, I CAN DO WHAT I WANT, BE WHO I WANT TO BE, FEEL THE FREEDOM BABY, IT IS ALL AROUND YOU. THE JOY OF LIVING, THAT I CAN ACTUALLY LIVE AND NOT WORRY ABOUT WHETHER OR NOT I WILL HAVE A ROOF OVER MY HEAD OR FOOD IN MY BELLY. THAT I CAN MAKE DREAMS HAPPEN, THAT I CAN SAY MY PEACE, WITHOUT FEAR OF REPRISALS, THAT I AM ABLE TO GO TO BC AND SEE THE MOUNTAINS AND SUNSET OFF VANCOUVER BEFORE I DEPART THIS WORLD, THAT I CAN GO OUT EAST AND FINISH OFF MY PAINTING COURSE THERE, AND THAT I CAN CONTINUE TO SIMON FRASER, DISCOVER TINGLIT NATIVES AND GO UP THE MCKENZIE RIVER AND FIND GOLD, THAT I CAN REDISCOVER THAT ANCIENT LAND WHICH ECHOES TO ME, ACHEFULLY CALLS ME, "COME JANE TO THE MOUNTAIN" AND I MUST FIND THAT MOUNTAIN. THE BURDEN BEING HOW TO GET THERE AND WHEN, BUT I KNOW IF I WANT TO, I CAN DO IT. WHY? BECAUSE IT IS THERE. CANADA IS THERE, IT IS HERE, IT IS EVERYWHERE; IT IS BETWEEN MY TOES, AND UP MY NOSE AND QUARTER TO THREE IT WILL STILL BE HERE. THAT IS WHY I LIKE CANADA IT IS PERMANENT AS THE UNIVERSE, IT HAS THIS SENSE WHEN STANDING ON THE GREAT CANADIAN SHIELD, WHICH I HAVE DONE, WHEN LIVING NORTH OF SUPERIOR. I CAN SENSE THE MAGIC OF ALGOMA, OF NATIVES FLYING ACROSS THE HAVILAND BAY AREA MOUNTAINS AS I SAW THEM FLY ON THE THREE HOUR LAKE SUPERIOR TOUR THROUGH THE TWILIGHT ZONE WHERE THE SUN DOES NOT SET OVER AND OVER AGAIN. I REMEMBER EXPO 67, THE AMAZING TIME WHEN MY FAMILY WENT THERE TO THE ISLE OF MAN TRANSFORMED BY THE WORLD'S EXPOSITION WITH PAVILIIONS OF AMAZEMENT. I WAS ONLY 9 AT THE TIME. I REMEMBER I LOVED THE USA PAVILLION THE GEODESIC DOME BY BUCKMINSTER FULLER AND THE THAILAND AND BRITIAN'S PAVILION AND SEEING THE BOAT SHOW, AND TAKING IN THE FRENCH-CANADIAN FLAVOUR TO THE QUEEN ELIZABETH HOTEL DOWNTOWN, AND THE BEAUTIFUL CATHEDRAL WHERE CELINE DION WAS MARRIED, AND REMEMBER A GRADE 8 TRIP TO QUEBEC CITY, WHERE THE CHATEAU FRONTENAC GAVE ME A FEELING OF THE FRENCH IDEA OF ROMANCE. I REMEMBER THE COKE COSTING A DOLLAR AT THE DISCO AND THE OLD QUEBEC ARTISTS "EN PLEINE AIRE" WITH THEIR ARTS AND CRAFTS FLOURISHING THERE, AND THE PIZZA WHICH ALWAYS TASTED SO GOOD AND THE FILET MIGNON I GOT TO TRY. I REMBMER THE COTTAGE IN WASAGA BEACH IN THE 60'S, LEARNING HOW TO SWIM IN GEORGIAN BAY, MAKING FINE FRIENDS HERE IN CANADA, FRIENDS THAT GIVE YOU THEIR LAST SHIRT. TRULY KIND BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE THE CANADIANS. THEY ARE TRUE TO FORM AND SORT THORUGH MUCH BS. THIS IS THE NATURE OF CANADA, SUPERNATURAL WITH NATURE THE RULE RATHER THAN THE EXCEPTION. CANADA FROM THE FIRST MOMENT I SUCKED MY FIRST BREATH TO PROBABLY THE MOMENT I SUCK MY LAST WILL ALWAYS BE THAT PLACE THAT I CALL HOME. JANE JONE JUL 1 2009
