Now for the Critique, Discussion, Analyses, etc. and then my poem offering discussing this poem.

Emily Dickinson is really trying to personify the landscape here. Emily wants to turn the landscape into a person who wears various clothes, e.g., pink, brown, and then completely undresses for the winter. The crest of which Emily is discussing are the hills in the distant, as they tend to be more vividly noticed, the distant landscape in the winter, as more is seen without tree/leave cover.

Emily then "heard told" probably from her scholastic classes that the earth rotates on its axis. Every twelve hours night to dark also creates new vistas of the ever-changing landscape. This poem is about seasonal change and the personification of the landscape with such change. Emily is comparing the seasons and their effects upon the landscape.

Time seems to have a frequency which is often, the world keeps spinning and frequently change. I believe Emily is happy with these constant changes in the landscape as she watches for the "crest" to come into view in perhaps the fall to winter months. This is a relatively simple poem without too much deep analysis needed ( I am not saying this because it is Sunday and I want to see the fireworks and want to get a nap in before hand, but it could be! No, it is a simple poem today! Is this synchronistic or what!
