Mag#130 the language of love SHE

image by Francesca Woodman

the language of love

SHE
bonded
to
flesh
~~~
a
breakthrough
moment
~~~
Conchata's
return
remain
sacrosanct
and
intact
~~~
yet
her
extreme
repose
sent
her boys
waves
and
wind-whipped
shivers
as
her populace grew
she tore asunder
all her clothes
naked she walked alone
marbled footed
as now
the
Gatherings
took
her ankles
dowsed
the
deep
breached
the far shore
~~~
mercy strained
her peaches
toned
her
core
turgid
she regurgitated
truth
lit up
the left bank
foamed jetsom
floated flotsam
frayed
ropes
thoroughly
soaked through
see-through
~~~
skin
barely
there
~~~~

the sand
scorched
sun
suddenly
ablaze
she shone
warmth
alight stream
her only
adornment
~~~
latent she swore
she'd never wear
her heart
a young thing
her
dreams
sprung drunk
to spring forth
and
sing  a capella
in
as
the
only
one
ingenue
whose
endless
Summer
in the
con·tin·gent
USA
found nothing
new blue moon
~~~
ran amuck
porcelain feet
Conchata
as the
river had run
its course
a
sequella
full
of
belly
full
of
fish
bloated
her
heart sank
~~~
LOVE
made her float
recoiled
spiralled
whorl to shell
of what once was
whose
songs
SHE DID SING
recently
returned
their
laconic echoes
raise
a glass
and
drink to THINE EYES
SLOWLY THE
endless imbibe
sea's
INEVITABLE RETURN
to the
inaudible
incantation
~~~

  2. I remember seeing "Swept Away" in the mid-70s ~ Italian with English subtitles ... fascinating how you wove 'the language of love' throughout your poem .. I enjoyed it.

  3. Hey Chicco ' , i really dig this, words cant describe it really, it is like a Chiccorealian " Rhyme to the Ancient Marineress" , it is a dep well of feeling, an Odyssey, thanks for sharing.
