from maple trees
Chinatown storefront windows
entangled memories
in my mind
I see
flurry of actors
I smell
duck sauce
I taste
Timmy Ho's coffee
I hear
traffic in Toronto
I feel
inordinate love for this city

fried thin
skin crisp
duckbills pout
lean lips

    That was my Thanksgiving day walk on Spadina too. Never been to New Ho King...Mother's Dumplings is my go-to now.

    Lovely swish down memory lane - 1976 - still at school NTCI ... many chopsticks have passed under the bridge since then.

    Very well-done. This pulls out both memories and emotions, even though I've never been to Toronto and have spent little time in any Chinatown. I love the comparison of the ducks to red leaves of maples. That leads well into the rest of the poem, taking us to Canada.
